Do you want to be part of the animation and digital art industry, produce audiovisual productions and work on real projects in the design and image field?
Train to become an animator, artistic producer or a creative designer, working with new image, art and animation technologies.
Your best choice is to study at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC).

The Bachelor's degree in Design, Animation and Digital Art (2017 programme) of 180 ECTS credits (3 years) will begin to be phased out in the 2023-2024 academic year.
The objective of the Bachelor's degree in Design, Animation and Digital Art is to provide students with contemporary and specialised training in the framework of digital creativity. The student will be able to design and develop products, content and digital services based on design, animation, audiovisual production and digital art, and featuring a high degree of innovation and creativity. This overall objective requires a robust training in creative abilities and knowledge and command of new technologies and digital tools in the world of image, art and animation.
During your studies you will also learn to foster critical reflection on digital technologies, and learn about their advantages and context of application, as well as their social and ethical implications. You will also have the opportunity to participate in projects and creation laboratories, where you will be working with leading companies in the digital industry. This all takes place while you are participating in both individual projects and in multidisciplinary teams oriented towards the professional market of design, animation and digital art, enabling you to adapt to a technological world in constant transformation, and to understand today's digital industry and prevailing business models.
The bachelor's degree in Design Animation and Digital Art is an official university degree, complying with the requirements of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).
Price: 106 €/ECTS (€6,360 for each academic year of 60 credits)*.

Access to any bachelor's degree is possible from undergraduate training cycles, although the access grade (mean grade for the studies) or the weighted admission grade will be taken into account for admission to the studies depending on how the subjects in the specific University entrance tests are related to the knowledge area of the degree course for which access is sought. *1 At the end of the course, the student will have learned and will be able to demonstrate their knowledge with the practical part of each course and in addition, a project will be carried out as a group each academic year in order to create and enhance the students' curriculum vitae.
*2 From the 4th year of the bachelor's degree in Digital Design and Multimedia Technologies, the 24 optional ECTS credits can be obtained by taking optional courses in the programme of studies or in two blocks: 12 ECTS credits for external internships and 12 ECTS credits for optional courses.
*3 For the Degree in Design, Animation and Digital Art, 3 elective curricular itineraries have been designed: Interactivity, Audiovisual Design and Video Games. The curricular itineraries will be made up of the selection of four elective subjects (24 ECTS).
Clarification notice:
The CITM recommends students to follow the normal itinerary of 60 credits per academic year. The curriculum for this degree programme includes the possibility of external practice work (companies, public organizations…) that is considered as an Elective subject area for students. As well, it is possible to take these courses in other foreign universities.

Projects and Professional Experience: Tras licenciarse en Comunicación Audiovisual y haber disfrutado de una beca en los Maine Media Workshops and College Filmmaking (USA), comienza a trabajar en animación para Fílmax en El Cid: La Leyenda (2003). Ha colaborado con la Filmoteca de Catalunya para la restauración del film de animación Érase una vez… (1950). Su trabajo de investigación sobre el cine de animación le ha llevado a publicar en varios libros y revistas científicas, así como a participar en foros de animación española. ![]() Projects and Professional Experience: Experta en aplicaciones de realidad virtual, interacción humano-ordenador, psicología y neurociencia. Doctorada en el Institut d'Investigacions Biomèdiques August Pi i Sunyer (IDIBAPS) i Event Lab (UB), investiga el uso de la realidad virtual para disminuir actitudes racistas, mejorar la empatía en maltratadores y también para mejorar el tratamiento de fobias. Durante sus estudios de doctorado, realiza una estancia pre-doctoral en la Universidad de Maastricht (Holanda) con el fin de utilizar técnicas de neuroimagen para comprender mejor el impacto de la realidad virtual en el cerebro. Posteriormente, lleva a cabo una estancia postdoctoral de casi 3 años en la Universidad de Bayreuth (Baviera, Alemania), donde se centra en aplicar conocimientos de las ciencias cognitivas para mejorar el diseño de interfaces como la realidad virtual o también para el desarrollo de nuevas interfaces basadas en levitación por ultrasonidos para crear contenidos digitales que se pueden ver, escuchar y tocar. Ha trabajado en diversos proyectos de investigación financiados por la Unión Europea como Levitate y VERE. Ha publicado varios artículos científicos en revistas internacionales de alto impacto, centrados en la realidad virtual y en el campo de la interacción humano-ordenador. Áreas de expertise: Desarrollo de aplicaciones interactivas, realidad virtual, interacción humano-ordenador y diseño de aplicaciones que utilizan la tecnología para mejorar la calidad de vida de las personas (salud y educación). You will work with different formats, languages and visual contents such as photography, lighting, cinematography, interactive applications or video games, acquiring the necessary technical bases for the digital creative treatment of each format. At the same time, you will approach the digital design industry, animation and gamification, also applying the necessary knowledge of management, entrepreneurship and marketing.
All this participating in individual projects and in multidisciplinary teams based around the professional market of design and digital art.
