General information

Teaching goals

The aim of the bachelor's degree in Design, Animation and Digital Art is to develop your artistic and creative side, by means of projects of digital design, animation and modeling of scenarios, characters, interactive objects and graphic interfaces, crossing the field of art, communication, advertising and other disciplines.

You will develop the necessary skills for creation and artistic expression, using different media and techniques of graphic and audiovisual production and dominating the tools for the elaboration of digital contents and images. All this, participating in individual projects and in multidisciplinary teams based around the professional market of design and digital art.

General Information

The bachelor's degree in Design Animation and Digital Art is an official university degree, complying with the requirements of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) being phased out.

*1 By the end of the course, students will have learnt and will be able to prove their knowledge with the practical exercises for each of the course subjects; furthermore, students will participate in a group project every year to strengthen and materialize their curriculum.

*2 In the 3rd year of the bachelor's degree in Design, Animation and Digital Art, the 24 optional ECTS can be obtained by taking optional subjects in the curriculum or in two blocks: 12 ECTS of external internships and 12 ECTS of optional subjects.

Clarification notice:

The CITM recommends students to follow the normal itinerary of 60 credits per academic year. The curriculum for this degree programme includes the possibility of external practice work (companies, public organizations…) that is considered as an optional subject area for students. As well, it is possible to take these courses in other foreign universities.

Projects and Professional Experience:

Jefe de estudios, profesora e investigadora en procesos de digitalización 2D y 3D del patrimonio cultural.

Es profesora en el CITM desde el año 2012 y ha dirigido el Postgrado en Digitalización del Patrimonio Cultural, de la Fundación Politécnica de Cataluña.

Ha trabajado en varios proyectos profesionales de asesoramiento para la digitalización de fondos de archivos fotográficos e históricos. Algunos de estos proyectos destacados han sido la redacción de los protocolos de digitalización de la Generalitat de Catalunya y la Diputación de Girona.

En el ámbito académico, ha realizado publicaciones y comunicaciones en congresos, dentro del campo de la digitalización del patrimonio, la medida de la calidad de imagen y la gestión del color.

Actualmente, está realizando su tesis doctoral en el ámbito de la reproducción fiel del color en procesos de fotogrametría, dentro del programa de doctorado en computación gráfica de la UPC y formando parte del grupo de investigación ViRVIG.

Marta Fernández Ruiz es profesora y coordinadora del Grado en Diseño y Desarrollo de Videojuegos del Centro de la Imagen y la Tecnología Multimedia de la Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña, y responsable del área de Game Studies del Grupo de Investigación DiCode: Digital Culture and Creative Tecnologías.

Sus líneas de investigación se centran en los videojuegos y ecología de los medios; el impacto de los videojuegos en ámbitos más allá del entretenimiento; y las estéticas de juego vinculadas a las tecnologías emergentes.

Ha participado en proyectos relacionados con los videojuegos indie (siendo codirectora de contenidos de la primera edición del congreso Indie Games TRS) y con el aprendizaje mediado por el juego, los entornos virtuales y el storytelling (asumiendo el coliderazgo de iniciativas como Ciudad y Juego).

Con anterioridad ha sido profesora en La Salle Centro Universitario, la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid y el Istituto Europeo di Design. Asimismo, cofundó Labhipermedia, spin-off de la Universidad Carlos III centrada en el desarrollo de aplicaciones multimedia interactivas centradas en la formación deportiva.
